On December 13, Microsoft China announced it will hold safety seminars in more than 40 cities in the mainland China, and it will take actions against 16 Beijing-based branded computer dealers that pre-install pirated Windows operating system in the computers they sell. Nick Psyhogeos, vice president of Microsoft's OEM business solutions group, said that dealers should halt piracy and provide financial reimbursement for Microsoft, and that Microsoft will address the problem by virtue of legal means if the dealers refuse to take responsibility for their actions. Analysts said that Microsoft is currently facing multiple challenges, and cracking down on piracy is probably a move to stimulate the sales of the genuine Windows 8 system. |
